You may experience delays when launching Outlook

Due to a recent Microsoft update scheduled to install this Tuesday (June 16), some customers will experience varying delays when opening Microsoft Outlook. Outlook will present a dialog box that reads, 'Preparing Outlook for first use.' during this delay.

This issue should be a one-time event, which will occur the first time Outlook is opened after your computer has installed the most recent round of Microsoft updates.  You should be able to use Miner Mail (http://minermail.mst.edu) during the delay to access your university email and calendars.

You can read more about the update here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/969907.

Please contact the IT Help Desk at 573-341-HELP if you experience any additional problems with Microsoft Outlook.
