REMINDER: Blackboard 9.1 is coming to campus!

Blackboard 9.1 will be released to campus on Sunday, May 20, 2012, starting just after midnight.

Blackboard will be unavailable while services are transferred over from version 9.0 to 9.1. All Summer and Fall 2012 courses, along with current and previous courses will be converted over to version 9.1. Specific details about what will be changing can be found at http://edtechconnect.mst.edu/blackboard_91/. The EdTech Connect blog will keep up-to-date information about the changes to Blackboard going forward. Contact Educational Technology at edtech@mst.edu with any questions or concerns you may have.

Monthly Security Patching of the Windows Servers

Security patches of Windows servers will be applied, Thursday, May 17, sometime between 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.  Some services will be unavailable during this time.

Storage Area Networks Upgrades

SAN 02 and SAN 11 firmware were upgraded today, May 16, 2012
SAN 05 will upgrade Wednesday, May 23, between 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.
SAN 01 will upgrade Wednesday, May 30, between 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.
SAN 12 will upgrade Wednesday, June 6, between 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.
During the upgrade, users may experience short delays accessing Research Volumes, Exchange Email, Virtual Machines, and hosted software.

Please note: The IT maintenance window occurs every Wednesday morning from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. One or more IT services is usually unavailable during this weekly time slot.

License Management Server Upgrade

The license management server will be upgraded Thursday, May 10, 2012 between 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.  License managed software will be unavailable during the upgrade.

IT is improving the space arrangement of some user home directories on Thursday, May 10, 2012 sometime between 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.  Anyone experiencing trouble connecting to their home directory, after the improvement, should reboot their computer.

Windows Updates Release Thursday, May 10

IT will release Windows updates to all managed computers on campus Thursday, May 10, 2012.  Computers will require rebooting after the updates run.

Nexus Firmware Upgrade, Wednesday, May 16, 2012

Nexus Firmware will be upgraded, Wednesday, May 16, 2012.  The upgrade is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.  Licensed applications may require a restart after the Nexus firmware upgrade.

DC Nexus settings will change Thursday, May 10, 2012, to improve network connections.  The network may experience short blip outages between 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. as changes are made.

Missouri S&T and University of Missouri technicians are aware of an issue affecting accessibility of email accounts on the Exchange 2010 servers. 

Some S&T users may experience intermittent email access.

S&T technicians are in contact with UM technicians and are working to resolve the issue.
