IT would like to remind everyone that our typical maintenance window is every Thursday from 10:00pm until 2:00am. We will be seeing an interruption of services during this timeframe on Thursday, July 2. We will endeavor to communicate details about any changes that will have a significant impact on the campus community.

The outage is due to maintenance being performed on network firewall software.

This issue should be a one-time event, which will occur the first time Outlook is opened after your computer has installed the most recent round of Microsoft updates.  You should be able to use Miner Mail (http://minermail.mst.edu) during the delay to access your university email and calendars.

This process will affect students who are no longer associated with Missouri S&T prior to Spring 2008, who are not taking classes or who have graduated. Students who have enrolled since Spring Semester 2008 are not subject to this maintenance. 

All accounts subject to this maintenance will be sent e-mail notifications through their Missouri S&T e-mail account, beginning on June 11. Anyone who is planning on re-enrolling for the Fall 2009 Semester but has not done so at this time will need to contact the Help Desk.

Students accounts no longer in active status will return to the UM System pool to allow the student continued access to Joe'SS. E-mail and local network file storage associated with the account will not be retained.

If they choose, instructors will be able to make courses available again on a course-by-course basis by using the course control panel.

After further investigation, IT was able to bring Exchange back online and email service was restored for all customers by 2:35 p.m. IT will follow up with our vendors (Equallogic, Microsoft) to isolate the issue and prevent it from occurring again.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
