The numerically intensive computing (NIC) cluster file system has experienced significant hardware failures. IT is currently working to bring the service back up as quickly as possible, but anticipates that the outage may last until at least mid-day on Wednesday, April 15.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will provide information as it becomes available at the IT blog, itpress.mst.edu.

The NIC Cluster is again having technical difficulties. IT is working to resolve these issues and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. When the NIC Cluster is back up, an update will be made to this entry in IT Press.

The NIC Cluster is back in service. Several users recieved "welcome to the NIC Cluster" messages during this outage. This was sent as part of a system error and these messages can be ignored.

The high performance computing (NIC) cluster is currently unavailable due to a file system problem. IT is currently working to correct the issue, but at this time has no estimate when service will be restored. We will provide more information at IT Press as it becomes available.
