Introducing Educational Technology @ Missouri S&T
Educational Technology (EdTech) is a new group within the Information Technology (IT) department. EdTech offers the following services to support instructors interested in adding a technology component to their teaching.
- Support for classroom technology (projectors, PCs) in centrally-scheduled classrooms (approximately 90 classrooms).
- Support for clickers, TurningPoint, Blackboard, Wimba, and other technologies that promote improvements in student success.
- Consultation with faculty to develop effective solutions for enhancing and expanding teaching and learning through technology.
- Consultation and project assistance for any department interested in creating new, collaborative learning spaces (for example, Computer Science 212 & 213).
- Exploration and evaluation of emerging technologies. EdTech partners with faculty to establish pilot projects using new technologies prior to campus-wide rollouts.
- Creation of and support for virtual learning environments for students and faculty.
Come meet your colleagues and the EdTech staff at our first ever Teaching and Learning Technology Conference on April 25, in the Havener Center. All instructors are encouraged to participate as presenters or attendees! A large selection of door prizes will be given away along with vendor sponsored meals and snacks.
